Get an oil pressure test kit, the only way to know if the pressure is really off and by how much. If it'#039s after 30-40 min that'#039s when the oil has really warmed up so I'#039d say it'#039s genuinely got low oil pressure.

If you'#039ve checked the balance shaft ends aren'#039t wiggling and nothing else seems wrong it could be the oil squirters (aka oil spray jets) under the pistons,

I think RCD330 with the CANBUS simulator wire is the way I'll probably be going, seems like it's the best looking and easiest to fit option.

We'll have to learn to press the pedal a bit gentler.

Cleaned up the interior a bit, steering wheel + plastic/glass bits, wheel was looking sorry as hell after one year without any attention.

Yup, backwards '#039innovations'#039 and massive bloatware have ruined modern cars. I liked the MK5 GTI'#039s era as they were new enough to benefit from tech that actually improves your driving life, but not so new as to annoy you with unnecessary bongs and needing a computer to fix even the most minor of issues, such as the MK7 on needing VCDS to change the rear brake pads nbsp

25mpg was my ED30 life for 8 years nbsp  nbsp Best I ever got out of that car (stock intake and exhaust, Stage 1 revo) was 33mpg, and that was a solid month of 400 miles a week at really gentle throttle and sticking

Thanks for the replies folks.

Looks like the paint option is the way to go. Def not ideal but that’s the way the cookie crumbles I guess.

It'#039s what I would do personally, if you can'#039t find decent aftermarket one. nbsp Just make sure you prep it well and use a

Cat back exhausts give you feck all power wise (Downpipes do though), so I would stick a resonator on it and keep the peace with your neighbours!

Personally I would just do an S3/6R intercooler, HPFP internals and Stage 1 and leave it there. nbsp Spend the bulk of the money on suspension and brakes instead as people often do it the other way round and end up with a car that

The map sensor reading includes atmospheric pressure, so deduct 1000mbar to get the actual boost pressure. GTI runs about a bar of boost iirc, and ED30 runs 0.9 bar.

From what I know a ko3 might put you in low 300s without upgrading hpfp or injectors, but around 350 if you do. I’d say get a k04, but in my opinion anything over 300 hp and you need to take care of the rods as they are prone to fail over 300.

And yes, a custom remap for your car will be required.

Last post for tonight, I'#039ve split it into several posts be cause there was a ton to write about and there'#039s still plenty to do.

Between dealing with all the stuff I mentioned in the last two posts, I found a load of issues with the body. The front right wing is rusting out after rubbing on the wheel, so that'#039s to be fixed or replaced. But more importantly, the sills a

Extra wire under seat for?
Last Poster: GreigC in Mk5 General Area on June 26, 2024, 08:55:52 pm
I have a 5 door 2009 MK5 GTI with stock tartan seats (non heated & non electric) and when looking under the carpet flap where the cables live I notice this unplugged black connector and often wondered what it’s for?

Re: What is this connector that's missing a wire?!
Last Poster: Dumbguyjoe in How to Guides / Troubleshooting on June 26, 2024, 08:03:32 pm
Hmm okok thanks guys. I'll explore some more. There was previously an amp for a sub installed... Maybe it was something to do with that?

Any idea what that green circled thing is? Looks like whatever it is just ain't grounded...

Some infor about retro fitting different selectors.

It'#039s not a gti they'#039re talking about, so I don'#039t know if it will work the same. But it looks like there is some backward compatibility there.

Also I think some guy mentioned having fitted an audi

Limits of EA113
Last Poster: NorwegianMK5 in Performance Modifications on June 25, 2024, 03:30:14 am
Hello, I currently own a MK5 GTI and will be buying a brand new engine from factory (AXX) soon. I am planning to push 400-500HP so I am wondering what the limits of the stock internals are, and which ones I have to change to see such figures. It will be a big turbo setup, most of the parts will be provided from RTMG. I am willing to change every single part of those internals, but

In the last picture, are those TT arms or  passat ones?

Re: TFSI Blow-Off Valve (BOV)
Last Poster: pudding in Performance Modifications on June 23, 2024, 01:50:17 pm
BOVs are no good on Mass Air flow measured engines, you need the proper VW recirc valve.  That can be done easily enough using K04 parts and a wiring harness extension.

Re: Spark Plugs for Ko4 hybrid conversion
Last Poster: pudding in Performance Modifications on June 23, 2024, 01:48:37 pm
No just take them out of the packet and stick them in.  They work fine in standard and modified engines.

Re: Standard Intake Options?
Last Poster: pudding in Performance Modifications on June 23, 2024, 01:47:34 pm
The BMC CDA is a good option, good filters those and not too noisy.

The stock intake is not a restriction until 300hp anyway, so is fine for most Stage 1 - 2 tunes, but if you want quiet, that is the quietest option.

Edition 30 Rear Valance -Pearl Black (Genuine Part)
£80.00
Location: Manchester
Collection Only

For Sale is my old Pearl Black Edition 30 rear valance. This clips into the upper section of your rear bumper.
This was removed from my golf due someone backing into me at low speed causing surface cracks. (they offered to pay for a new valance)

The surface cracks are around the the number plate area which I've tried to photo the best i can.

The exhaust surround has been bonded back on by the body shop after an encounter with a high kerb a few years ago.

There are storage scratches on the paintwork so will need respraying. You will also need a towing eye cover.

All clips to clip the valance upper bumper section are intact and there is no sign of warping.

This is a genuine valance and was fitted to my ED30 from the factory.

Hi all,

For sale is my 2008 Volkswagen Golf GTi Edition 30 (DSG). I am the 2nd owner from new and have owned the car since November 2021. The car was near enough stock when I purchased it and I have upgraded it in my ownership.

- Heated seats.
- Highline MFD.
- Arm rest.
- MFSW.
- RNS510.
- Folding mirrors (heated).
- Rear parking sensors.

In my ownership I have had the following maintenence completed:

- Serviced 3 times (2 full services, one oil and filter change).
- Cambelt and waterpump.
- Thermostat replaced.
- DSG service.
- Genuine cam chain and tensioner.
- Genuine cam follower changed at every service.

- Whole car has had Powerflex bushes installed in December 2023.
- Super pro anti lift kit - fitted December 2023.
- AP coilovers (top mounts replaced all around at the same time), fitted December 2023.
- All rear control arms replaced (December 2023).
- Geo By Luke fast road alignment (December 2023).
- Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres all around.

I've just spent circa £2.5k on the suspension components refresh.

I have spared no expense on ensuring the car is mechanically sound.

Being honest, the car could do with the wheels being refurbished. There is general wear and tear on the car which is expected for the age, the car is approaching 16 years old. There are some minor dents and scratches. The front end does have some stone chips. The inner sills have some slight blistering to the paint. The MFSW buttons work intermittently but I have bought the new control module but haven't had this fitted yet. The cruise control is also intermittent and I have purchased a new stalk, but haven't fitted this yet. Parts will be included in the sale, or if I have time, I will get them installed before sale.. Front and rear dash cams & pioneer double din are not included in the sale.

If you are looking for a well sorted car which mechanically has been looked after well, this is a good car to purchase.

I am in no rush to sell, only considering selling to upgrading. No part exchanges please.

The pictures are prior to the installation of the coilovers, I will upload new pictures once I have detailed the car.

I'm looking for £11,495.00, I paid just under this when I bought the car stock.

Please let me know if you have any queries.

Kind regards,

Sharif
